From theme parks to pirates, Cornwall has something for everyone.
The Eden Project is 45 minutes away, as is Newquay with its Sea-Life Centre and Pirates Experience. There’s the Lost Gardens of Heligan, mining museums and even Bodmin Jail to visit.
You don’t have to go far to find something to do in Cornwall.
If it’s shopping your after there’s a choice of Bude, Bodmin or Wadebridge. But if you’re looking for a theme park there’s the Camel Creek Adventure Park near Wadebridge or the Flambards Experience further down nearer the bottom of the county. Alternatively, Bodmin has the Wenford Railway, Cornwall’s only full-sied steam train which runs a variety of themed evenbts and family days out; or the newly refurbished Bodmin Jail. This boasts the new ‘Dark Walk’that takes guests on a journey back in time to see what life was like in the jail in the 18th and the 19th Century. You meet some of its former inmates and see what conditions inside the jail were really like for the prisons, hear stories from highway robbers, smugglers, miners, and tales of infamous the Beast of Bodmin.
Further down we have the Shipwreck Museum at Charlestown and the Lost Gardens of Heligan near St. Austell – an estate that was rediscovered in the 1990s frozen in time after its staff left for the First World War.
